Cubs
WHERE THE SECTION FITS INToday Cub Scouts is the second Section of the Scout Movement, following on from Beavers, and is based within the Scout Group. Young people can become members of the Cub Scout Pack from the age of eight and progress to Scouts, usually in the same Scout Group, at around 10 1/2. THE MOVEMENT GROWSYounger brothers of Scouts wanted a 'look-in' at Scouting as well and Wolf Cubs (later to become Cub Scouts) began in 1916 to provide opportunitieis for younger people, which was followed by Senior Scouts the following year. Throughout its existence the Cub Scout Section has constantly evolved and adapted its programme and methods to meet the changing needs of each generation. 15TH DIDCOT CUBSCub Scouts come along to the Cub Scout Pack wanting fun, adventure and friendship. With opportunities to go on visits, explore the outdoors, play games and try new things, there’s rarely a dull moment.
